In her teaching, Viviane starts with the belief that discovering every student’s unique voice is rewarding for both student and teacher. A genuine curiosity about the full possibilities of vocal expression guides all of her lessons and classes.
Viviane draws from her classical vocal studies with her own teachers (Bruce Pullan, Marianne Weltman, Marisa Gaetanne and David Meek), as well as her studies with Richard Armstrong (Banff Centre for the Performing Arts – Vocal Intensives), Pauline Oliveros (Deep Listening®), Phil Minton and Master Liang (Qi Gong).
In her teaching, Viviane also draws from her extensive experience as a professional vocalist, improviser, and songwriter who has sung with Vancouver Opera, Music on Main, Standing Wave Ensemble, Festival Vancouver, the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, The Vancouver International PUSH Festival, and Vancouver New Music’s VOX Festival.
